The Astronomia Maestro Worldtime features an 18K rose gold skeleton case designed to showcase the intricate workings of the movement. The massive 50mm case boasts a cylindrical sapphire box with a gold structural chassis. Despite its size, the watch maintains a clean and simple design with winding and setting functions discreetly placed on the solid case back. While water resistance is a mere 10 meters, this is to be expected for a watch of this caliber.
A Closer Look at the Dial
The skeleton dial takes up a small portion of the space beneath the domed sapphire crystal. Unlike previous Astronomia models, the main timekeeping dial is positioned front and center for easier reading. The dial features classical and futuristic elements, with blued hands and a matching chemin-de-fer minute track alongside an intricately enameled globe motif.
Signature Astronomia Elements
The watch stays true to the Astronomia series with its signature elements. A 1-carat Jacob Cut spherical diamond rotates on its axis every 90 seconds, while a triple-axis tourbillon with the Jacob & Co. emblem in rose gold sits opposite the diamond.
Introducing the World Timer Complication
A new addition to the Astronomia series is the world timer complication. This oversized painted rose gold globe rotates on its axis once every 24 hours, indicating the time across all 24 time zones. To counterweight this globe, a hand-painted German silver astronaut figure orbits the central dial with the rest of the complications.
The movement is completed with a hand-painted aventurine plate depicting the Milky Way, planets, and a glittering black backdrop.
